"My sisters and I visited Calzone's during our summer vacation in San Francisco.  While touring the San Francisco Science Museum, we were told by a fellow tourist that Calzone's served the best Italian food in town.  He was absolutely correct!  My sisters and I truly enjoyed our experience; the service was friendly and professional, the food was incredible (and affordable as well), and the ambiance had a retro-rustic Italian feel to it!  We loved it!  I LOVED the Strawberry Mojito and the Lasagna was the BEST I ever had.  The lasagna noodles were homemade!  I could taste it!  And the cheese was sooo very good and the chunks of meat within the layers were so yummy!  The grand finale’ was the Tiramisu--- oh boy!  My sisters and I are still talking about that Tiramisu.  It was the perfect way to end the dinner.  We miss Calzones and wish you could come to Houston to visit for a long while!  Keep up the great work!

"I wanted to write and tell you how PHENOMENAL my experience was at your restaurant! My friend and I on our first visit to san francisco had walked to your restaurant all the way from Pier 1... after all that... we were tired and hungry. You were super busy but we were seated with appetizers and drinks in less than 10 minutes!! Ur staff is extremely cohesive! The food was awesome... The tiramisu... there just aren't words... It was SO good. Thank you!!!!!"

"I ate at your fine restaurant last month - my first trip to San Francisco.  I had the best calzone in the world.  Do you ship to Florida?"

"Just a note to compliment your staff on a wonderful dinner last night while in SF on business.  The service was exemplary and the food was great.  Special thanks to our server Sergio.  His great service was perfect.  He was efficient and very polite!  Truly a pleasure to be served by!  Job Well Done!  I'll be back the next time I am in town!"

"I had the opportunity to eat at your restaurant last night and I thought the meal was great!  It was not only light but delicious.  The marinara sauce on the gnocchi was mild (not overly spiced) and extremely fresh.  It tasted as if it had just been made!  The cranberry and fuji apple salad was also very tasty. The vinaigrette used to dress the salad was light and did not at all taste of oil. Thanks for a very pleasant dining experience."

"Calzone's is just the best. Anytime I'm in SF I make a point to drop in for pasta, gnocchi, tiramisu and a cold Moretti. Tante grazi!"

"Just wanted to let you know what a wonderful time I had last weekend while in the Bay Area at your restaurant in San Fran.  The food was wonderful, the service was great and the food was absolutely fantastic.  I would like to see if you can/will share your recipe for the Italian Pot Stickers with the ginger sauce. I had never had them and when I did, it was out of this world."

"This last Saturday we brought our parents to your restaurant.  It was a great day for all of us the minute we were seated.  The waiters were right there for all or any of our needs.  The food was fabulous!!!  We are Italians and I have told all of our other family members and friends about your place.  The olive oil and balsamic vinegar on the table were great.  Your pasta sauce should be on store shelves, it was great.  Thanks so much for making our day great.  My parents are 75 and 73 years old, from Italy, and want to come back to your place soon.  Believe me we will.  Thanks again.

"An awesome choice, especially if you choose to eat on the sidewalk under the powerful heaters. Obviously a great place for people watching, but the food is to not be ignored. The Calzones are wonderful, and a very good size. One thing we always do for the best value is have one person get the prix-fixe, and the other person will just get an entree. You basically get your dessert for free when doing this."

From an inside or outside table, guests here can monitor goings-on in wild North Beach while dining on wood-fired pizzas or creative crepes. The atmosphere is relaxed, loud and happy. The crowd is made up of locals coming back for a great time and tourists wishing that this was their local trattoria. Signature items include (of course) enormous calzones, Wood-Fired Pizza, and Angel-Hair Pasta with assorted Shellfish. Dinner entrees cost $15-20. The wait staff is personable and quick.

Calzone's one of the most visible restaurant on Columbus Ave. in North Beach with a red neon sign the length of this very visible location. Calzoni is a must. Freshly made served on a long dish, it's a great size meal leaving room for a nice Italian dessert. The iced tea was a very nice complement. I gave the manager the idea for a half-calzoni-to-go. So, if you start seeing those being offered, it was my idea! Park near Levi's Plaza on Sansome. Only 449 steps to Coit Tower, then an easy sroll

Awesome Food, Great Location

My friends and I had a great time at Calzone's the other day. One friend had the burger, which looked incredible. She said it was one of the best she's ever had. I had the orzo with coteghino sausage and the spinach salad - they were both really, really good. Fun place to go with alot of people. They have great Mojitos! We will definately come back sooner than later!
